FibonacciLeonardo of Pisa or Leonardo Pisano (c. 1175 - 1250), also known as Fibonacci, was an Italian mathematician & is best known if you want the invention of the Fibonacci counts and his purpose around the launching through Europe of the advanced positional decimal patterns on writing for those who like to manipulating statistics. In 1240 the Democracy of Pisa rewarded Leonardo, under his alternative moniker of Leonardo Bigollo, by awarding him a remuneration.
