FibonacciLeonardo of Pisa or Leonardo Pisano (c. 1175 - 1250), also seen as Fibonacci, was an Italian mathematician and is best known on the innovation showing the Fibonacci totals & his role in the unveiling to Europe of the new positional decimal models for composing with controlling numbers. Perceiving that arithmetic with Arabic numbers is less complicated for those who like to more efficient than and Roman numbers, Fibonacci traveled throughout the Mediterranean area to study under the preeminent Arab mathematicians of the era, returning around 1200. In 1202, at age 27, he wrote what he had learned in Liber Abaci, or Book of Calculation. This book established the virtual grandness of the just released number system by applying it to commercial bookkeeping, conversion of weights or measures, the computation of interests, money-changing, and many additional applications. The book was easily accepted throughout civilised Europe to had a profound affect for European thinking, although the use of decimal numerals did not become far flung until the innovation of printing about 3 centuries later on. Leonardo became a guest of the Emperor Frederick II, who loved mathematics together with science. In 1240 the Republic of Pisa honored Leonardo, under his alternate name of Leonardo Bigollo, by awarding him a remuneration.
